This year at Ford stretched me, humbled me, and—thanks to AI—occasionally saved me from myself.

Ford is the largest organization I’ve ever worked in. Leading at enterprise scale requires patience, clarity, and a sense of humor. Preferably all at once. Some days I brought all three. Other days, I brought coffee ☕ and a prayer 🙏🏼.

And somewhere in the middle of it all, AI slid into my leadership toolkit like, “Hey girl… let me help you with that.”

Working in tech for the past 20 years hasn’t been without its challenges. In fact, it’s been challenge after challenge. Yet, I know this journey has come with opportunities for my family and self that only others can dream of.

I want to pay it forward. I want to leave a blueprint, as you will, for how I’ve been able to navigate this career and stay grounded and focused on what really matters.

This talk is all about embracing the adventure of a tech career with the excitement and preparedness of a camping trip. You’ll learn to adapt, balance, communicate, navigate, and innovate, ensuring your tech journey is as thrilling and fulfilling as a journey through the great outdoors!

It’s been a long road, but I’m glad I stayed!

This is my last official week at Meetup. The company has been acquired and as these things often go there has been a “restructuring.” However, before you start feeling sorry for me, you must know that I’m fortunate. I’m looking forward to taking a break and decompressing from the whirlwind of the past four and a half years.
